The Home Support Program offers a wide variety of programs and services to help seniors and adults with physical disabilities to remain living independently in the community.

Transportation Program offers private drives to medical, dental, banking, shopping or personal appointments.  A minimum of two business days is required to book a qualified volunteer driver.  The fee is determined by the number of kilometres driven. 

Shopping Bus provides regular trips to an Ottawa mall from Vernon, Metcalfe, Greely and Osgoode for a reasonable fee. 

Foot Care Clinics are offered in Metcalfe and Osgoode each month for a fee.  Appointments are required.

Meals on Wheels provides a hot noon meal (soup, entrée, and dessert) delivered to your door, Monday to Friday for a reasonable fee.  Diabetic diets are available.

Frozen Entrées offer a wide variety for easy convenienve catering to senior diets. Diner's Club meets on Tuesdays, includes a catered noon meal and entertainment.

R.O.A.R (Rural Older Adults Rendezvous) offers socialization and activation for frail and/or isolated adults each Wednesday (10am to 2pm), while offering respite to caregiver. transportation is available.

In-home Respite/Caregiver Support provides companionship and/or personal care and offers support and/or relief for the caregiver. A minimum of two hours is requires.

Home Help provides screened workers to assist with routine household chores and/or meal preparation on a regular or occasional basis to meet client needs.  A minimum of two hours per visit is required.

Handy Helper is a summer student program performing outdoor chores, window washing, etc. for seniors.  Also in partnership with St. Mark High School students provide a spring and fall cleanup day.  No charge. Donations appreciated.

Sno Go Program offers assistance finding reliable snow removal contractors to clear driveways and walkways.  Some clients may qualify for a subsidy for this service.

Income Tax Assistance is a free in-home service provided by volunteers, trained by Revenue Canada.  Donations appreciated.

Telephone Assurance volunteers telephone seniors and adults with disabilities weekdays at a prearranged time.  If there is a cause for concern, a follow up will be carried out by contacting family members, friends or emergency services. No fee for this service.

Equipment Loan Program provides walkers, wheelchairs, canes, bath chairs, commodes, etc. to assist people in their own home on a short term basis. No charge. Donations appreciated.

Vial of Life is an emergency preparedness program whereby clients can maintain their up-to-date health and emergency contact information which can be retrieved quickly by emergency personnel and/or families.  No fee.

Please note that many of our services require an in-home visit to determine the client/caregiver needs and eligibility prior to providing service.

Subsidies are available dependent upon need and availability of funds
